AQUA-SAN II
AQUA SAN II - Water Analysis Report (click to view)
Note: The raised CFU counts shown in the fifth test above (EN 9985) are the result of deliberately ‘over-loading' the AQUA-SAN II Marine Sewage Treatment System by increasing the ratio of faecal (i.e. solid) to liquid deposits. The dosing rate for the AQUA-SAN II, like all chlorine-based sanitisation systems, is calculated based on a combination of urine and faecal materials, thus avoiding over-chlorination of the waste. For the purposes of this calculation, the base rate is three urine deposits to one faecal deposit. On board a vessel, accidentally increasing the ratio of urine to faecal materials e.g. 5 to 1, may result in excessive chlorine being discharged into the environment. Conversely, decreasing the ratio of urine to faecal materials e.g. 1 to 1, may prevent the system from adequately sanitising/oxidising all of the toilet waste. Please note that the dosing rate for the AQUA-SAN II system can be ‘tuned' to suit either situation, and that the deliberate ‘over-loading' shown above had little effect on the over-all test results given that ALL CFU's in the treated toilet waste had been destroyed in the previous four tests. |
